Clearwater Earth Day Concert 2012
A second year for this Hudson River Sloop Clearwater Concert. The theme was to celebrate Woody Guthrie's legacy in this what would have been his 100th year. Held at Tarrytown, NY's Music Hall and produced by Steve Lurie, this was an amazing night of music by some of the best performers in folk, rock, blues, jazz and world music. Covering a five decade span, old friends and new, the performers had a great time right from sound check, when they all realized that magic could happen this night. Playing solos, duets, trio's and groups they shared talent, fun and a mix of their own and Woody's songs. Starting with a reading of Woody's words from his grand daughter Anna Canoni, to the surprise vistit by Pete Seeger all the way to the finale led by Pete this was one of those all too rare concerts that exceeded all expectations. We've tried to include shots that capture some of the spirit of this gathering.
